As I learn, and my work improves, one pattern has emerged: I draw fewer details.
I draw sequence in a little over a day and a half, and I think it communicates the idea just as clearly as if I'd spent a week drawing details. Probably more so. As Ben Juwono says, in drawings "clean" is not the same as "clear". Clarity is always the goal.
Several fantastic board artists have told me something similar, but I think it's something you need to experience. I imagine most people come to this realisation eventually, through experiencing time constraints in the production process.
